My Work Injury

Last month in October I had the unfortunate event of having a rather large piece of luggage dropped on my wrist while at work at Delta. It happened early on in the morning and I thought nothing of it, till it was large and swollen and I was losing feeling in the fingers. It was then in the afternoon after working on it all day I took it in to have medical professionals look at my wrist. Nothing broken, just dislocated was the final verdict. You can see in the pictures the impact point and dislocated area.

Not much to say here but me and the car turned 200000 October 14, 2009. Feel free to send me brownies to celebrate

San Diego

Through out the school year of 2008 and 2009 I participated in a research project that I was hand picked for by my behavioral psychology professor. We spent many hours on months testing gentics of rhesus monkey offspring and their mothers to provide more insight to the concept of nature vs. nurture. After we established some basic principles and had base data, we introduced alcohol into the theory to see if alchoholism could be a factor. After publishing our data in a seminar at BYU, the national institute of health noticed our research, thanks to the help of Dr. Higley, and we were asked to present to the board of the institute. So of we went in September to San Diego were we presented and made good strides in answering new questions and allowing the opportunity for new research to be done.

Seattle, Washington.....for a day

Last Tuesday September 8, 2009 I used my benefits to go to Seattle for the day. I haven't been to Seattle since I was very young where the only things I remember were the ferry rides and feeding french fries to seaguls. Now, being older I could enjoy things more. I received the very last seat on the plane, and arrived at the Sea-Tac airport at 9 in the morning. I spent the day at Pikes Market. This is the place where the famous fish tossers you see on TV are. People will order the fish and the workers will toss the huge fish back and forth to each other all while yelling fun songs. It was fun to watch. There are stores all throughout this 6 block area on the beach front. Some areas of the market are 5 levels deep. There are random stores where you can find the weirdest stuff and some amazing food places where you can find almost any food from around the world. Another famous landmark of Pikes Market is the original Starbucks. It is the only store in the market that is a chain, since it started there and grew. No other store can ever become a chain and be a part of the market.

Delta Airlines - the other side

At times at Delta, I get the opportunity to handle very random items. You just never know what its going to be. One of the more common items besides bodies and prescription drugs is gold. But on this lucky day it was cold hard cash. The security team was there to help "watch" us unload the cash while the gingerly touched their weapon. It was a fun day. It was quite the ordeal getting the money off, the federal reserve chairman was on the plane flying with the cash then signed it over to the chairman who was in charge of it here in Utah. Then we placed the belt loader from the plane right into the back of the armored truck. Then 42 bags of 1.8 million dollars came down the belt. 96 million dollars!!!!

Welcome

After I began to blog for Kall 700 Radio, one place that employs my services, Sarah told me that I should get a personal blog started so she can hear more about what I am up to and see pictures. Well Sarah, you have your wish and I am on here to keep people up to date on my movements and random thoughts. To catch people up that havent heard from me in awhile I am currently a year into starting my own business. Its going but its a ton of work and I am finding new ways to grow everyday as I learn more about how to run a business. I started Utah Urban Surf Kiteboarding to bring my love of surfing to Utah and to allow people to get out and get active in the sun. Kiteboarding opened the door for me to be the host of 700 XR on Kall 700 Sports radio as the host of the show. We are an action sports oriented show to educate listeners on the hows, wheres, whys and the passions athletes in the industry have. Beyond that I work out at Delta Airlines throwing bags, I love it even though it is a ton of work. To wrap it up I have the best baby boy ever named Nixon. I found him abandoned at 2 weeks old and I nursed him into the big boy he is now. He is the best part of my day to come home to and see his eyes ready to play.
